I’m excited to share a bit about Mod Nashville, a new social organization and women’s networking group (welcoming to all! recent graduates, CEOs, men, women) that I recently began with Kirsty Hughan of Seamless Marketing. We’re passionate about Mod being a place for support, which we enable through monthly ModSocials. We also believe Mod is a way of life – after all it’s named after the Modernist movement of the 60s, Modification and Modulation. When it comes to supporting women in the workplace, we believe in walking the walk. That means supporting equality on a daily basis, verbally and emotionally – an attitude we hope to foster at our events.

Mod was conceptualized around three qualities that help to differentiate us from a typical women’s networking group: Mod is free, Mod is inexclusive and Mod is active. As recent Nashville transplants, Kirsty and I wanted to create a safe place for women to support other women but also to go beyond that. Our goals with Mod Nashville are to affect the workplace as a whole, to not exclude anyone who wants to join and to offer something that feels both powerful and current. Mod fit.

We meet the fourth Wednesday at Refinery Nashville (a great resource and workspace for small businesses that also happens to have a super stylish design). Our next ModSocial coming up on February 25, 2015 at 6:30pm.
